Finally we get the
BBC docu about Agnetha !
if it isn't a deception , it still focus too much on Abba , the english solo career has been dismissed as a failure , though it wasn't because of disinterest but lack of promo !
anyway , the docu isn't full of inaccurate facts like many others , the Van de graaf episode seems to no more scare the star , she seems to have overcome her fears !
though the "bottom" thing is still an anglo-saxon obsession just to show that Abba was more successful because of the "eye candy" but everybody knows that it's absolutely untrue , if it does , they would have been long forgotten !
i have to watch it many times to appreciate more honestly the work of the BBC crew !
for those who seem to understand that the docu have tried to minimize the role of Frida :
first , in the Abba years , Agnetha was the blonde bombshell without any brain in the press of her own country and many others , often more disrespectful towards her than Frida .
wich means that's only justice if suddenly everybody in the media noticed that it's very clever woman !
second , in the Abba ingredients , if Bjorn is the mastermind , Frida the perfect perfomer Benny and Agnetha are the geniuses !
Benny especially in the eighties , thinking that Abba was a comet in the pop world though recognized the talent tried many times to minimize the contribution of the two ladies to singing-chorus and dress !
it's not until "Mamma mia ! " the musical that he changed his mind about the two songbirds , and i think that Agnetha and Frida deserve royalties from the show !
Also Agnetha is more involved in the recording process than Frida and knows from first how it must be just like Benny and there is no doubt that she a serious song writer (Mr trendsetter , making of SGO and making of WYAAM)
she at least gift us with an entire album and not one song in four years on another artist album (that you may like or dismiss) or more disrespectful a CD available only in japan so only rich fans can get !!
more of that ; all the interviews are available on internet and the songs on you tube , so you can buy the Cd only if the songs please you !
i personally bought the new album on CD and it worth completely the price .
Agnetha has never recorded masterpieces that uplift her voice , in the contrary (karen Carpenter also ) she records average songs and makes therm sound like masterpieces thanks to her magic voice capable of tricks very few singers are able to , the only pieces that are perfect are her own compositions that are splendid and "i keep them on the floor..." is the proof !
Abba is ended and fans who knew them in the past can't ask for a reunion , it would be the perfect way to lose interest in them !
if a reunion was scheduled it would have been in the eighties or early nineties , now it's too late and it would be a manner of transforming them from a UFO in the pop world to a ridiculous conventional band !
